Set a Custom Server Icon

Introduction

First impressions matter. When players add your server to their Minecraft client, the server icon is the first piece of branding they see. A professional icon can make your server look more established and inviting. This guide will show you how to correctly format and install your icon on the HumbleServers panel.

Requirements for the Icon

Minecraft has very specific requirements for server icons. If these are not met, the icon simply will not display:

• Dimensions: Exactly 64x64 pixels.
• Format: Must be a .png file.
• Filename: Must be named exactly server-icon.png.

Step 1: Prepare Your Image

If you have a high-resolution logo, you need to resize and convert it. We recommend using an automated tool to ensure the metadata is correct.

1. Visit an icon converter like MCUtils Server Icon Converter.
2. Upload your desired image (it can be a larger PNG or JPG).
3. The tool will automatically crop or resize it to 64x64.
4. Click the Download button to save the result.

Step 2: Proper Naming

Once downloaded, locate the file on your computer. If the file is named something like icon-123.png or converted-icon.png, you must rename it.

• Right-click the file and select Rename.
• Type: server-icon.png

Note: Ensure your file explorer isn’t hiding file extensions, or you might accidentally name it server-icon.png.png.

Step 3: Uploading to the Panel

1. Log in to your HumbleServers Game Panel and select your server.
2. Navigate to the Files tab in the sidebar.
3. Simply drag and drop your server-icon.png file from your computer into the file list.
4. Ensure the file is in the root directory (the same place where your server.jar and server.properties files are located).

Step 4: Applying the Changes

The server icon is loaded by the Minecraft server software only during the startup sequence.

1. Go to the Console tab.
2. Click Restart.
3. Once the server is back online, refresh your server list in your Minecraft client to see your new branding!
