Hytale

Can you switch my server to Hytale, or to a generic Java egg?

If you're running a custom Java application — such as a Hytale server build — and our default Minecraft startup flags are causing crashes, we can switch you to a cleaner setup. Here's how it works.

Why you might need a switch

Our default Minecraft startup uses specific flags tuned for Minecraft. A custom Java application like a Hytale server build may not play nicely with those flags and can crash on startup. Switching to a Generic Java egg gives you clean startup flags better suited to a custom app.

How to request it

  1. Open a support ticket describing what you're trying to run.
  2. Let us know if you're seeing crashes tied to the default Minecraft startup flags.
  3. We'll switch you to a Generic Java egg with clean startup flags so your application can launch properly.

Tip: Include your console log (use "Share logs via mclo.gs") in the ticket so we can confirm the startup flags are the cause.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Generic Java egg? It's a server template that runs a Java application with clean, neutral startup flags — no Minecraft-specific tuning — which suits custom builds like a Hytale server.

Will switching wipe my files? Open a ticket and we'll walk you through the switch and what to back up first, so nothing you need is lost.
