Do you have DDoS protection, and what type?
DDoS protection is included on every HumbleServers node at no extra cost, so your server stays online through most attacks automatically. This article explains what's covered and how to add an extra layer for Minecraft specifically.
What's included
All our nodes include DDoS protection as standard, at no extra cost. The specifics — provider and capacity — are infrastructure detail we don't publish, but for most attacks it works automatically in the background, with nothing for you to configure.
Adding an extra layer for Minecraft
For Minecraft specifically, a protocol-level proxy like TCPShield can add another layer of protection on top of the node's defenses.
- Sign up with a proxy service such as TCPShield.
- Point your custom domain through the proxy to your server.
- Have players connect via the protected domain.
Tip: Pairing the built-in node protection with a Minecraft-aware proxy gives you defense at both the network and protocol level.
Frequently asked questions
Does DDoS protection cost extra? No. It's included on all nodes at no additional cost and works automatically.
What provider or capacity do you use? That's infrastructure detail we don't publish, but it handles most attacks automatically in the background.
Do I need TCPShield too? It's optional. The node protection covers most attacks; a proxy like TCPShield adds a protocol-level layer if you want extra assurance.
