Subuser permissions won't show, or I get a "valid email required" error — why?

When subuser permissions won't appear or you hit a "valid email required" error while adding someone, the issue is almost always the email address you're entering or the account it belongs to. Here's how to get a teammate's access working.

Why this happens

Subuser access is tied to a real panel account identified by email. If the address is malformed, or the person doesn't yet have an account on it, the permissions won't line up.

Fixing subuser access

  1. Enter a valid, correctly formatted email in the Users tab when adding a subuser.
  2. Make sure the person has (or will create) their own panel account on that email to accept access.
  3. Re-select the permission checkboxes and save again if they didn't register the first time.

Tip: Add the exact email your teammate uses for their panel account, so their access lines up with a real login.

Frequently asked questions

They don't have an account yet — what do they do? They can register a panel account with that same email, and their access will then appear.
