Can I host a web map (BlueMap) or a website, and what web hosting do you offer?

Yes — you can run a web map like BlueMap directly from your game server. Full standalone website hosting is a separate product, and a VPS is the right home for that. Here's how each works.

Web maps vs. website hosting

A web map (BlueMap, Dynmap, and similar) runs as a plugin or mod on your existing server and serves its map over a port — so it lives alongside your game. A full standalone website or store is a different kind of workload, and for that a VPS gives you the freedom to host it yourself.

How to host a web map

  1. Install BlueMap (or a similar web map) as a plugin/mod on your server — it serves on a port.
  2. Open the needed port in the Ports tab (ports are free to allocate).
  3. Share the map via your IP and that port, or point a domain at it.

Tip: Web maps need an extra allocated port — add one in the Ports tab and point BlueMap at it in the plugin's config. Ports are free, so allocate as many as your setup needs.

Frequently asked questions

Which port does BlueMap use? Allocate a port in the Ports tab, then set that same port in BlueMap's config so the two match.

Do you offer full website hosting? For a standalone website or store, use a VPS — it gives you full control to host whatever you need.
