Yes — our Heavy tiers run faster CPUs, which is exactly what performance-sensitive servers want. Here's how CPU differs across our plans and how to get the most out of it.
How CPU differs by tier
- Budget tiers run on capable EPYC hardware, well suited to lighter servers and most vanilla or lightly-modded Minecraft setups.
- Supreme and Ultimate tiers run on Ryzen 7700 hardware with strong single-thread performance — the best choice for modpacks, heavy redstone, and larger player populations.
- On supported versions, the panel automatically applies aikar/G1GC startup flags to help throughput, so you get tuned garbage collection out of the box.
Getting the best CPU performance
- Match your tier to your workload — Budget for lighter servers, a Heavy tier (Supreme/Ultimate) for anything demanding.
- Keep your software and version on a supported release so the aikar/G1GC flags apply automatically (visible in the Startup tab).
- If you outgrow a tier, upgrade through billing — your files stay in place and only your resources change.
Tip: Minecraft is heavily single-thread bound, so a faster per-core CPU (our Ryzen tiers) often helps more than simply adding cores. Chasing clock speed and single-thread strength beats chasing core count for most servers.

Which tier should I pick for a modpack? Supreme or Ultimate — the Ryzen CPU headroom handles the extra load modpacks place on a single thread.
Can I just add GHz to my current plan? There's no separate clock-speed setting. To get a faster CPU, move to a Heavy tier (Supreme/Ultimate) rather than trying to tune clock speed directly.
