How do I change my server's timezone?

Your server's timezone drives both your schedule times and the timestamps in your logs. If a scheduled restart seems to fire at the "wrong" moment, the timezone is usually the reason. Depending on your software, you can set it with a startup variable or in the software's own config.

Where the timezone comes from

Some server eggs expose a timezone (TZ) variable in the Startup tab. Where that isn't available, the timezone is set inside your software's configuration files instead.

Changing it

1. Check the Startup tab for a timezone (TZ) variable if your egg exposes one.
2. Otherwise, set the timezone in your software's config where that's supported.
3. Restart from the Console tab and confirm your schedule times line up.

Tip: Schedules run on the server's timezone. If a scheduled restart fires at an unexpected hour, mismatched timezone settings are almost always why.
