How do I set up a specific server type (Bedrock, Spigot, Mohist, Velocity, Waterfall, Forge)?

Switching your Minecraft server to a specific software type — whether that's Spigot, Mohist, a Velocity proxy, or something else — is a one-click job. The Software page installs each type for you and sets the startup automatically.

How the Software page works

The Software page holds a live catalog of installable server software, each with its own selectable Minecraft versions and builds. Installing swaps in the right files so you don't have to hunt down jars by hand.

Installing your server type

1. Open the Software page (the Version chip at the top of the console).
2. Pick the software you want — Paper, Spigot, Purpur, Forge, Fabric, NeoForge, Mohist, Velocity, Waterfall, BungeeCord, and more.
3. Choose the Minecraft version and build, then install.
4. Restart from the Console tab.

Tip: Proxies like Velocity, Waterfall, and BungeeCord sit in front of your backend servers — set each proxy up as its own server and point it at your backends. See the Minecraft KB for network and proxy specifics.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bedrock supported? Choose a Bedrock-capable software from the catalog (switching between Java and Bedrock asks you to type a confirmation). If you don't see what you need, open a ticket and we'll help.

Do I use plugins or mods with my chosen type? The Paper/Spigot family uses plugins; Forge and Fabric use mods. They aren't interchangeable.
