How do I import a world from Aternos or another host?

Moving your world over from Aternos or another host is straightforward: download it from the old host, then upload it to your HumbleServers server via SFTP. The same level.dat placement rule applies as with any world upload.

The two halves

Importing is really two steps: getting the world off the old host, and putting it onto your new server correctly. Aternos offers a world download; other hosts typically use SFTP.

Step-by-step

  1. On the old host, download your world (Aternos has a world download; others use SFTP).
  2. Extract the zip on your PC so you have the world folder with level.dat inside.
  3. On your HumbleServers server: stop it, delete the default world, and upload yours via SFTP (details in the Settings tab).
  4. Rename to world, ensure level.dat is at its root, and start.

Tip: Also move your plugins/mods, configs, and server.properties settings if you want the full setup to come across. See our migration article for a complete transfer.

Frequently asked questions

The server made a new world instead of loading mine — why? level.dat wasn't directly inside the world folder, or the folder wasn't named world. Fix the placement and re-upload.

Do I get my plugins/mods automatically? No — only the world moves unless you also copy the plugins/mods folders and configs. Bring those over for a full migration.

Can I bring the Nether and End too? Yes — upload world_nether and world_the_end alongside world so all dimensions come with you.
