Can I recover files from a deleted or shut-down server, and within what window?
Deleted-server data is retained for a limited period, so recovery is often possible — as long as you act quickly. Here's exactly what to do and what we'll need from you.
How recovery works
Once a server is cancelled, its files are deleted and kept only for a limited window. Within that window, and while the data still exists, we can arrange a restore. To locate your old server we need its Console URL from your browser history, which contains the Server ID and old IP. Because the window is short, treat this as urgent.
How to recover a deleted server
- Open a ticket as soon as possible.
- Include the server's Console URL from your browser history (it contains the Server ID and old IP) so we can locate it — this is required to attempt a recovery.
- If it's within the retention window and the data still exists, we can arrange a restore (a restore fee may apply on entry plans).
Warning: Once a server is cancelled, its files are only kept for a limited window — don't wait. After the window closes, recovery isn't possible.
