How do I download my server files, world, or player data to my PC?
You can download individual files straight from the panel, or grab large sets over SFTP. Keeping your own copies is also the best way to protect your world while our new backup system is being built.
Overview
Single files and small folders download easily from the Files tab. For your whole world or hundreds of files, SFTP or an archive-then-download approach is faster and far less error-prone.
How to download
- For a single file or folder: open Files, tick the item, and choose Download (folders download as an archive).
- For your whole world or many files: connect via SFTP and copy them to your PC.
- To pull everything at once, archive the server (or the folder) first, then download the archive (see the Archive article).
Tip: Archiving a big folder into one file before downloading is faster and less error-prone than downloading hundreds of small files.
Tips & best practices
- Keep periodic local copies of your world and configs so you always have an off-panel backup.
Frequently asked questions
There's no download option on a folder — why? Archive it first, then download the resulting archive; folders don't download directly as-is.
How do I get a full-server backup I can download? Archive the server folder and download it. The automated Backups tab is temporarily offline during an upgrade, so this manual copy is the way to go for now.
