Can I buy a domain directly from HumbleServers, or must I get one elsewhere?

You bring your own domain — HumbleServers doesn't currently sell domains or hand out a free subdomain. The good news is that pointing a domain you own at your server is completely free; there's nothing extra to pay us for it.

Getting a domain

Buy a domain from any registrar — Namecheap, Cloudflare, Porkbun, and similar all work fine. Once you own it, you control its DNS.

Pointing it at your server

Add an A record mapping your chosen host (e.g. play) to your server IP, without the port.
If your server uses a custom port, add an SRV record as well.
Wait for DNS to propagate, then test with play.yourdomain.com.

Tip: If you'd rather not buy a domain, some third-party services offer free subdomains you can point the exact same way — just add the A/SRV records they allow.
