Control Panel

How do I archive (zip) my world or files in the panel?

Archiving bundles your files into a single compressed file that's easy to download, move, or keep as a quick snapshot. It's one of the handiest tools in the Files tab — especially before any risky change.

How it works

When you archive a selection, the panel creates one compressed file (typically .tar.gz) right in the current folder. Your originals stay untouched; the archive is simply a copy bundled together.

How to archive

  1. Open the Files tab and tick the files/folders you want.
  2. Choose Archive — the panel creates a single archive (e.g. .tar.gz) in the current folder.
  3. Download the archive, or keep it as a quick snapshot.

Tip: Archive your world folder before any risky change (version switch, mod update) so you have an instant local copy to fall back on.

Tips & best practices

  • Name and date your archives so you can tell them apart later.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the archive save? In the same folder you archived from.

Does archiving delete the originals? No — archiving copies your files into a new archive and leaves the originals in place.
