Control Panel

How do I unzip/unarchive a file (tar.gz, tgz, tar, zip) on the server?

The panel can extract common archive formats right where they sit, so you don't need to unpack anything on your PC first. This is the easiest way to deploy a modpack, world, or bundle of configs you've uploaded.

Supported formats

The panel handles the standard server archive formats — .zip, .tar, and .tar.gz/.tgz. Extraction happens in place, into the folder the archive is sitting in.

How to unarchive

  1. Upload or locate the archive in the Files tab.
  2. Click the file's options and choose Unarchive/Extract.
  3. The contents extract into the current folder; move them into place if needed.
  4. Restart if you extracted a world, plugins, or mods.

Warning: .rar isn't a standard server archive format — convert it to .zip or .tar.gz on your PC first, then upload and extract.

Tips & best practices

  • Extract into an empty folder first if you're unsure of the archive's structure, then move files where they belong.

Frequently asked questions

My world ended up one level too deep — how do I fix it? Move the actual world folder up so it matches your config's world name; a nested wrapper folder is the usual cause.

My format isn't supported — what now? Repackage it as .zip or .tar.gz on your PC and upload that instead.
