How do I see my current version without joining the server?

You don't have to log in to your world to check what version and software your server is running. A few spots in the panel — and the in-game console — tell you at a glance.

Where the version shows up

The Console startup lines, the Versions and Startup tabs, and even your server-list MOTD all reveal what you're running without joining.

Checking your version

  1. Look at the Console startup lines — the software and version print as the server boots.
  2. Check the Versions tab or Startup tab for the installed software and jar.
  3. Run version in the console (Minecraft) to have the server report back.

Tip: The MOTD/server-list entry also shows the version to clients without anyone needing to join.

How do I tell which software I'm on? The console boot lines name it directly — Paper, Forge, Fabric, and so on.
