The restart button doesn't work and my server is stuck on "Starting..." — how do I fix it?

A server stuck on "Starting..." is almost always waiting on something during boot, or it needs a hard stop before it'll come back cleanly. The Console usually tells you exactly what's holding it up.

Why a server hangs on Starting

Boot can stall on a missing file, a bad config, an unaccepted EULA, or a slow world load. Sometimes the process just needs to be forced down and started fresh.

Getting it unstuck

  1. Click Stop (or Kill) to force it down, then Start again.
  2. Watch the Console during boot for the error that's stalling startup.
  3. Fix whatever the console reports and restart.
  4. If it never leaves "Starting..." with no console progress at all, open a ticket.

Warning: Use Kill sparingly — forcing a stop mid-write can corrupt a world. Prefer a clean Stop, and back up regularly.

Frequently asked questions

There's no console output at all — what does that mean? It could be a node issue. Contact us so we can check from our side.

It says "You need to agree to the EULA" — how do I fix that? Set eula=true in eula.txt and restart (Minecraft).
