Minecraft

After a region change the IP is still the old one — is that expected?

No — a completed region transfer gives you a new IP. If you're still seeing the old address, the move likely hasn't finished, or you're looking at a cached domain record.

Why you might still see the old IP

  • The move hasn't completed yet — until it does, the server stays on its original hardware and IP.
  • A cached domain record is showing you the old value — your domain may still point at the previous IP until you update the A record.

What to check

  1. Open the Console page and read the current IP:port.
  2. If it's changed there, update your domain's A record (and SRV port) to match.
  3. If it hasn't changed and the transfer was confirmed done, reply on your ticket so we can check.

Tip: Always confirm the real address on the Console page, not from a domain lookup — DNS caches can lag behind the actual move.

Frequently asked questions

My Console shows a new IP but my domain still points to the old one. Update the A record to the new IP and wait for DNS to propagate.

The Console still shows the old IP after a confirmed transfer. Reply on your ticket and we'll investigate — that shouldn't happen once the move is complete.
