Can clients edit their own startup command and do things without a ticket?

Most day-to-day server management on HumbleServers is self-serve — you can change a lot without ever opening a ticket. This article covers what you can do yourself and the few things that still need staff.

What you can do yourself

The panel puts most controls directly in your hands:

  • Startup variables — JAR selection, RAM (Xms/Xmx), and Java version where exposed.
  • Files — upload, edit, and manage everything via the file manager or SFTP.
  • Plugins / Mods / Versions — install and switch software using the built-in tabs.
  • Schedules — automate restarts and other tasks.
  • Ports — add port allocations.
  • Whitelist / OP — manage via the Console tab.

Warning: The built-in Backups tab is temporarily offline while we upgrade it into a new deduplicated system. For now, back up manually by downloading your world/files via Files or SFTP, and staff can assist with restores via ticket.

What still needs a ticket

A few things are reserved for admins or our side:

  1. A locked Docker image or startup command that the panel does not let you edit.
  2. Region transfers.
  3. Billing changes.
  4. Anything that is genuinely broken on our side.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit my own startup command? Yes, in most cases — the Startup tab exposes variables like JAR, RAM, and Java version. Some servers have an admin-locked Docker image or command that cannot be changed through the UI; that needs a ticket.

Do I need a ticket to install plugins or change versions? No. Use the Plugins, Mods, and Versions tabs to manage software yourself.

How do I back up right now? Download your world and files via the Files manager or SFTP. The self-serve Backups tab is temporarily offline during its upgrade, and staff can help restore via ticket.
