Which FTP/FTPS client do you recommend?
If you need a desktop client for uploading files to your server, two stand out — and both work perfectly with the SFTP our panel uses. This article gives the short recommendation and how to connect.
Recommended clients
- WinSCP — excellent, Windows-only.
- FileZilla — excellent, cross-platform (Windows, macOS, Linux).
Both support the SFTP protocol our panel uses, and either handles large world uploads well.
How to connect
- Get your SFTP details from the Settings tab of your server.
- In WinSCP or FileZilla, set the protocol to SFTP and enter the host, port, and username from Settings.
- Use your HumbleServers account password to authenticate.
Tip: Stop the server before uploading world files so nothing is being written mid-transfer.

WinSCP or FileZilla — which should I pick? Either. On Windows both are great; if you are on macOS or Linux, choose FileZilla since WinSCP is Windows-only.
What login details do I use? The SFTP host, port, and username come from the Settings tab; the password is your HumbleServers account password.
Do these support large uploads? Yes. Both are well suited to large world folders over SFTP — far more reliable than the web file manager for bulk transfers.
