How do I use "Create allocation" / open a port in the panel?

Need an extra port for Geyser, a proxy backend, a web map, or voice chat? The Ports tab lets you add allocations yourself, and extra ports are free. This article walks through it.

What allocations are

Your server already has a primary game port (shown as IP:port). An allocation is an additional port on your server's IP that you can point a secondary service at. Extra allocations are free.

Create an allocation

  1. Open the Ports tab and click Create allocation.
  2. The panel assigns an available port on your server's IP.
  3. Point the relevant config at that port, then restart. Common uses:
  • Geyser (UDP) for Bedrock crossplay
  • A proxy backend port
  • BlueMap web interface
  • Voice chat mods/plugins

Tip: Your primary game port is already allocated — only add extras for additional services, not for the main Java connection.

Frequently asked questions

Do extra ports cost anything? No. Additional port allocations are free and stay with your server.

Can I choose the exact port number? The panel assigns an available port for you. If you need one specific number, open a ticket and we can check what is possible on your node.

How is a port different from a dedicated IP? Ports are free allocations on your existing IP. A dedicated IP is a separate optional add-on. See the port and IP articles for details.
