Can I reopen an old server from months ago?
Hoping to bring back a server you had months ago? Whether that's possible depends on whether it was deleted and whether you kept a backup. This article sets honest expectations and shows the path to try.
What determines if it's possible
If a server was deleted (unpaid 10+ days or cancelled), the files are gone and it generally can't be reopened with its data. If you kept a backup, though, you can order a new server and upload it to pick up where you left off.
How to try
- If you have a backup, order a new server and upload your copy via Files/SFTP.
- If it was very recently removed, ask about the $5 restore — you'll need the server's Console URL from your browser history (it holds the Server ID and old IP).
- Open a ticket with that Console URL and we'll check what's possible.
Warning: Reactivating months-old deleted data usually isn't possible. The sooner after deletion you ask, the better the odds.
