How do I change or update my Minecraft server version?

Changing or updating your Minecraft server version is a quick job in the Game Panel. There are two routes — the one-click Versions tab for anything in the catalog, and a manual JAR upload for anything that isn't.

  1. Open your server and click the Versions tab.
  2. Pick the software and Minecraft version (and build).
  3. Install — leave "Wipe Data" off to keep your world; turn it on only for a clean start.
  4. When it finishes, go to Console and press Start.

Custom JAR

If the version you want isn't listed:

  1. Open the Files manager.
  2. Upload your .jar.
  3. Rename it to exactly server.jar.
  4. Press Start from the Console.

Warning: Wiping data is permanent — make a backup first. Since the panel's Backups tab is temporarily offline for an upgrade, back up by downloading your world via Files or SFTP.

Frequently asked questions

Will updating delete my world? Not unless you tick "Wipe Data" — leave it off to keep your world.

What if my version isn't in the Versions tab? Upload the .jar via the Files manager, rename it to server.jar, and start.
