Minecraft
What plan do I need for a big network (proxy + lobby + survival + auth, hundreds of players)?
A big network isn't one giant server — it's several servers sitting behind a proxy, each sized for the job it does. That means you plan a network piece by piece rather than buying one enormous plan.
How to size each piece
- Proxy (BungeeCord/Velocity): light on RAM (1–2GB) — it routes players, it doesn't run worlds.
- Lobby: 2–3GB.
- Each game/survival server: sized like a normal server for its playercount (see the sizing answers).
- Auth/limbo: small (1GB).
Putting it together
- Map out your network: proxy, lobby, each game server, and auth/limbo.
- Size each server from the guide above.
- For hundreds of concurrent players, favour Supreme/Ultimate (Ryzen) backends.
- Open the extra ports you need (the Ports tab) for the additional servers.
- Open a ticket and we'll help spec it and price the multiple services.
Tip: The proxy stays light no matter how big the network gets — spend your RAM budget on the game servers, not the proxy.
