Will I lose my world/progress when upgrading, moving region, or reinstalling?
Making a change to your server — a RAM upgrade, a version switch, a region move, or a reinstall — naturally raises the question: will my world survive? Here's the short answer for each, plus the one habit that keeps you safe every time.
What happens to your data in each case
- RAM/plan upgrade or downgrade: no data loss (just watch your disk usage on a downgrade).
- Version/software change: your world is kept unless you tick Wipe Data (mind downgrade corruption when moving to an older version).
- Region change / machine transfer: files are copied over; only the IP changes.

The one habit that keeps you safe
- Before any of these changes, take a backup — download your
world(and mods/plugins/configs) via Files or SFTP. - Make the change.
- Verify the world loaded correctly before deleting your backup copy.
