How do I add or upgrade vCores, and can I trade RAM for cores?

CPU allocation is part of your plan/tier, and how you scale it depends on how your tier is structured. Here's what you can do and when to reach out.

How CPU scales

You can add CPU where your tier supports it — do it through billing or a ticket. Whether you can trade RAM for cores or buy cores independently depends on your tier's structure, so open a ticket and we'll advise what yours allows.

  1. Check your billing portal for CPU options on your tier.
  2. If they're not shown, open a ticket and tell us what you need.
  3. We'll let you know what your tier supports.

Tip: For Minecraft, strong per-core performance matters more than raw core count. Higher tiers (Supreme/Ultimate on Ryzen 7700) give stronger single-thread speed, which is what TPS depends on most.

Frequently asked questions

Will more cores fix my TPS? Not necessarily — Minecraft leans on single-thread speed, so a faster per-core tier often helps more than extra cores.
