Why did my disk shrink after downgrading (e.g. 100GB → 50GB)?
Disk allocation is tied to your plan, so moving to a smaller or lower tier lowers your disk cap accordingly. Re-upgrading restores it — your files aren't deleted just because the number changed.
Why the number dropped
Each tier comes with its own disk cap. When you downgrade, the cap follows the plan down. The files on disk are untouched, but the ceiling you can write up to is now lower.
The catch: if your usage is above the new cap, the server can't write (and may not start) until you free space or move back up.
- Check your current usage against the new cap.
- Free space by clearing old backups and unused world folders, or re-upgrade to restore the larger cap.
Warning: If your usage sits above the new cap, the server may not start until you get under it or return to a larger plan.
Frequently asked questions
Did I lose my files? No — the number changing doesn't delete anything. Re-upgrading restores the full cap.
The numbers look wrong for my plan. If the disk cap doesn't match the plan you're on, open a ticket and we'll check.
