When I try to upgrade, only RAM options show (not vCores) — why?
Seeing only RAM options — and no separate vCore choices — is normal on older plans where CPU is bundled with the RAM amount. Nothing's broken.
Why it works this way
On those plans, CPU scales together with RAM: you choose more RAM and the CPU allocation scales with it. That's why the upgrade screen shows RAM but no independent core selector. Current Minecraft plans work differently: each tier comes with a set number of vCores (Budget 2, Supreme 3, Ultimate 4), shown as e.g. "300% CPU (3 vCores)", and extra vCores are an option at +$5/mo each.
If you need more CPU specifically
- Open your server's Billing page in the client area and use Change plan — if extra vCores are offered there, add them.
- If only RAM is offered and you just need more overall capacity, pick the larger RAM option — CPU comes with it.
- If you specifically need more CPU independent of RAM, open a ticket and we'll advise what your plan allows.
Tip: For Minecraft, per-core speed usually matters more than the number of cores — separate core purchases are rarely necessary.
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy cores without adding RAM? On current plans, yes — extra vCores are +$5/mo each with Change plan. On older bundled plans, open a ticket and we'll tell you what's possible.
Is the missing vCore option a bug? No — on bundled plans, CPU scales with RAM, so only RAM is shown.
